The AAMC’s Electronic Residency Application Service® (ERAS®) program provides data to help applicants, advisors, programs, and specialties identify and understand trends in residency and fellowship recruitment. Explore interactive dashboards and reports that display key ERAS statistics, refreshed monthly, to support informed decision-making.
ERAS® Statistics
ERAS Applicant and Application Volume Dashboard
Explore the number of applicants and applications submitted through the ERAS system across the past five seasons. Data can be viewed by residency and fellowship programs and across participating specialties.
An ERAS season is defined as the beginning of June to May 31 annually.
Data is available from the current season and the four most recent prior seasons.
Numbers for past seasons show the complete activity for the entire season, while data for the current season reflect activity up to the most recent dashboard update (last refresh date is in the top right corner of the dashboard).
Monthly updates will be made the first week of every month (please note that refreshes will be paused on May 31 and resume on the July cycle program opening).
Data does not include Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program® (SOAP®) activity.
Since the 2024 ERAS season, applicants have been able to signal their interest in specific residency and fellowship programs. The following dashboard shows program signal trends across specialties and application types. This dashboard will be refreshed once a month.
Certain specialties that participated in signaling may not be displayed due to small sample sizes.
Selected season metrics include the number of programs receiving signals for both Residency and Fellowship.
